Diabetes Peer Support Coach

Summary

The job is for a Peer Support Coach working on a flexible 1099 contract basis at Better Health, a startup in the home medical supply industry. The role involves supporting members with diabetes through shared experiences, providing education, and creating personalized follow-ups and educational materials.

Requirements

• Have first hand experience with Diabetes
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort talking on the phone
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently within established procedures
• Comfortable with technology (we are a start-up, and use a variety of technology apps including Google Suite and our our software portal)

Responsibilities

• Conduct peer support coaching calls with Better Health members with diabetes
• Provide education around basic diabetes-related topics
• Construct personalized follow up emails and educational tools for members

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, common products, and evidence-based condition-specific best practices
• Secondary degree (Associates, Bachelors, etc) or at least 3 years professional experience, professional certification required if applicable
