Director of Cloud Native Applications

Join Caylent, a cloud native services company, as a Director of Cloud Native Applications to lead, grow, and evolve our cloud engineering practice. You will define and execute the strategic vision, establish best practices, and ensure successful delivery of cloud native applications. Lead and mentor a team of 50+ engineers, architects, and consultants, fostering innovation and continuous learning. Oversee successful customer engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction. Strengthen collaboration with AWS, leveraging latest technologies. Support pre-sales efforts and drive revenue growth. Stay ahead of industry trends and represent the company at industry events. Drive the development and implementation of AI-powered solutions. This role requires deep expertise in application development and AWS technologies and strong business acumen.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering and software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience leading and scaling an engineering practice or department, ideally within an AWS-focused services company
• Proven experience leading and delivering large (multi-million dollar) software project
• Deep expertise in AWS services, architectures, and best practices
• Deep expertise in software development patterns, architectures, and best practices
• Strong background in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with enterprise clients across various industries
• Experience working with cross-practice teams (talent, sales, marketing, operations etc)
• Experience building, delivering, and using GenAI products and solutions

Responsibilities

• Practice Leadership: Take part in Defining and executing the strategic vision for the Cloud Native Applications Practice, ensuring alignment with company objectives and AWS best practices
• Technical Excellence: Establish and promote industry-leading methodologies, frameworks, and architectures for cloud-native solutions
• People Management: Lead and mentor a team of 50+ software engineers, architects, and consultants, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
• Delivery Excellence: Oversee the successful execution of customer engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence
• AWS Partnership: Strengthen our collaboration with AWS, leveraging latest technologies and programs to enhance our service offerings
• Business Growth: Support pre-sales efforts, contribute to go-to-market strategies, and help drive revenue growth by aligning technical capabilities with business opportunities
• Innovation & Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends, drive innovation within the practice, and represent the company in conferences, webinars, and AWS-related events
• AI & Emerging Technologies Leadership: Drive the development and implementation of AI-powered solutions both internally and for our customers
