Requirements

  • 5+ years of current or recent (within the last 12 months) experience in a compliance role with a retail mortgage lender, at least 3 years within a supervisory role
  • Thorough knowledge of HMDA, ECOA, Regulation Z, TILA, TRID, RESPA, and Fair Lending Laws
  • Current or recent Encompass Experience required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from various backgrounds and at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage team members

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all State and Federal regulations company-wide
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements company-wide to ensure awareness of state and federal requirements
  • Maintain State and Federal Licensing Requirements
  • Oversee, schedule and administer periodic internal audits to ensure adherence to State and Federal regulations
  • Develop, recommend, and implement company policies and procedures to ensure adherence to all State and Federal regulations and reduce risk
  • Coordinate with the Training Department to develop training programs that educate team members on new, existing, and updated laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Identify and investigate potential branch compliance issues
  • Assess operational risk at the branch level and develop strategies to mitigate these risks
  • Communicate branch compliance issues and risks to General Counsel
  • Assist in creating and implementing branch policies, procedures, and programs to reduce compliance risk
  • Identify compliance systems in need of improvement to facilitate the ease of adoption
