Director of Engineering

Summary

Join Boulevard as their Director of Engineering (Data) and lead the scaling of the technical foundation for their products. You will be responsible for the data platform, machine learning and AI capabilities, and core infrastructure systems. Define and execute the long-term strategy for delivering trusted, intelligent, and real-time data products. Lead a high-impact team across data engineering, ML, infrastructure, and data science, with a mandate to grow and scale the organization. This role offers the opportunity to own a strategic function at a data-centric company, influencing both technical direction and company trajectory. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate data strategy into product and business impact and act as a thought partner to the executive team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data infrastructure, platform engineering, or machine learning, with deep technical expertise across systems design, distributed data processing, and data governance
• 5+ years of people management experience, ideally including managing managers, with demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing teams
• A track record of delivering business impact through strong cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering teams
• Experience guiding the evolution of data platforms and ML systems in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• A passion for coaching, mentoring, and building culture, and the ability to inspire a team through clarity, context, and trust
• A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps, balancing short-term execution with long-term vision

Responsibilities

• Become an expert in the subject of business identity
• Interact with product and other functional teams to align our technical strategy with customer goals and business needs
• Influence long-term vision for Boulevard infrastructure and data platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data strategy into product and business impact
• Act as a thought partner to the executive team on our long-term data vision
• Drive development by establishing highly collaborative, transparent, and efficient execution practices
• Work through the team to establish feedback loops that facilitate continuous improvement of the development process
• Develop your team and organization through technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, hiring, and being the glue

• Your total budgeted cash compensation for this role is between $200,000 and $288,000 USD, depending on your current skills, experience, training, and overall market demands. This range is subject to change, and there is always room for growth and advancement
