Summary

Join Carter, a company revolutionizing adtech infrastructure with a privacy-first AI-powered platform, as their Director of Engineering. Lead and scale the engineering organization, driving technical strategy and execution for core products. Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team. Oversee development and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. Implement and refine engineering processes for enhanced productivity and product quality. Ensure adherence to the highest standards of data privacy and security.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the adtech or martech industry
  • Strong background in building and scaling complex systems, including ad platforms, data engines, and real-time bidding systems. Tools include but are not limited to, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, Airflow, and Python
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, with a focus on mentorship and professional development
  • Demonstrated success in aligning engineering initiatives with business goals and driving measurable outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across diverse teams
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment, with a proactive and adaptable mindset
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with Carter’s product roadmap and business objectives
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the development and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions across our adtech stack
  • Work closely with Product Management, Data Science, and other departments to prioritize initiatives and ensure seamless execution
  • Implement and refine engineering processes, tools, and best practices to enhance productivity and product quality
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain Carter’s competitive edge
  • Ensure that all engineering practices adhere to the highest standards of data privacy and security
