Summary

Miva is seeking a highly motivated Director of Finance & Accounting with 7-9 years of experience in Financial Planning and Accounting roles to manage budgeting, reporting, cash management, and financial planning. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, MBA, CFA, and/or CPA, prior experience in SaaS or eCommerce/technology sector, high proficiency with QuickBooks, Maxio or equivalent software, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and ASC 606, ASC 842. Requirements

  • 7-9 years of experience in a combination of Financial Planning and Accounting roles
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA required
  • Prior experience working in SaaS or eCommerce / technology sector
  • High proficiency and recent working knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842
  • Experience working in a PE or VC-backed company
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of organization, multi-tasking, and minimal oversight
  • Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills with proven success in partnering and collaborating across all functions and levels of the organization
  • High degree of sophistication and experience with QuickBooks, Maxio or equivalent software, Microsoft Excel, implementing and operating ERP and other software systems

Responsibilities

  • Budget, Forecast & Financial Analysis
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting by department and at the company level to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations
  • Continuous improvement of budgeting and forecasting models and processes
  • Prepare dashboards and presentations, simply reporting actual results versus plan and forecast for Board and Senior Leadership teams
  • Prepare or review cash flow forecasts and recommend opportunities or mitigations as needed, including optimizing Miva's cash cycle
  • Maintain compliance with any loan covenants, prepare required loan reporting, and oversee the loan renewal process
  • Accounting Processes
  • Partner with the Controller to manage accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures for the company, balancing accuracy and compliance with transparency and the reporting needs of internal and external stakeholders
  • Review contracts and interpret the technical accounting rules under ASC 606 and ASC 842
  • Business Support and Projects
  • Understand, analyze, and communicate the impact of internal and external factors on the business
  • Lead improvements, upgrades, and enhancements to Miva's accounting systems and related accounting processes and controls
  • Participate in special projects and support sound business decision-making with data analysis
  • Ensure department projects and rocks are aligned with Miva's financial goals and rocks
  • Develop and mentor department team members
