Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related experience
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering SaaS software projects
  • Strong foundation in software development principles, architecture, and system design
  • Experience with programming languages (Python, .NET, React, and Rails)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS) DevOps, CI/CD, and microservices architecture
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization
  • Experience managing and scaling engineering teams
  • Strong ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers and managers
  • Expertise in agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Experience in setting technical direction and creating software roadmaps
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions

Responsibilities

  • Build, guide, and mentor a team of software engineers
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Define and implement technical strategies and roadmaps aligned with company objectives
  • Set engineering standards and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products and services
  • Manage project deadlines, resource allocation, and prioritization
  • Ensure successful product releases in collaboration with product management and other stakeholders
  • Manage the department's budget and resource distribution
  • Establish metrics and monitoring systems to track performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Address security concerns and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the engineering team and across departments
  • Work with executive leadership to align technical direction with business goals
  • Partner with other business areas to create software roadmaps and drive software excellence
