Join ghSMART, a leading leadership advisory firm, as a Consultant Development Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the learning journeys of our consultants. You will design high-impact apprenticeship opportunities, deliver tailored development and coaching programs, and ensure consultants receive regular, honest feedback. Responsibilities include managing the development of Senior Principals, leading induction and onboarding of new hires, driving feedback and performance management processes, and leading strategic initiatives. You will build strong relationships, understand consultant aspirations, and collaborate with mentors and teams. The ideal candidate possesses 7-10+ years of experience in professional development or a related field, strong relationship-building and communication skills, and a results-oriented mindset. A Bachelor's degree is required.
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of experience in professional development, talent management, or a related field - ideally in a professional services environment, and ideally in supporting senior employees
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence and guide others
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-impact insights
- Demonstrated ability to own, manage and complete projects with high quality results
- Collaborative team player who partners with senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities
- Manage the development of approximately half of ghSMART’s Senior Principals at various stages
- Build strong, trusted relationships with consultants, understanding their aspirations, strengths, and development areas
- Develop a deep understanding of ghSMART’s solutions and the learning journey required for mastery
- Collaborate with Mentors, Deployment Partners, and extended teams to design actions that align with career aspirations
- Create consultant profiles to inform workforce planning and targeted interventions
- Influence deployment and staffing opportunities by understanding client account needs
- Lead the induction and onboarding of 10-15 new hires annually
- Ensure a seamless transition into the business with clear performance expectations
- Manage the First Year Mentor program, facilitating development actions throughout the first year
- Partner with mentors and assessors to monitor progress toward ‘go solo’ status
- Maintain regular contact with consultants, coaching on skill building and relationship development
- Drive fact-based, unbiased feedback loops leading to no-surprise end-of-year reviews
- Set standards for high-quality, constructive feedback and manage the review process
- Ensure the promotion process is transparent and accessible
- Integrate best practices for driving DEI across all processes
- Lead change initiatives that align with strategic business imperatives
- Audit and optimize the consultant experience based on survey insights
- Enhance the appeal of the AP proposition and demystify the development path to partner
- Expand the impact of the partner development training program
- Embed best practices of DEI across all policies, processes, and practices within the PD function
Benefits
- Base salary of $190,000 - $225,000
