Backend Engineer

Summary
Join PostHog, a rapidly growing, remote-first company, as a Senior Engineer specializing in data ingestion and processing. You will be responsible for capturing and processing massive volumes of data, building a high-volume workflow engine, and making high-level architecture decisions. The ideal candidate possesses experience with TypeScript/Node or Rust, a proven ability to build high-volume systems, and a knack for rapid development and deployment. Requirements
- Have experience with either typescript/node or rust, and are happy to work in both
- Have experience building a system that has to deal with high volumes of requests/data
- Can choose a sensible architecture quickly, and then ship it faster than other people think is possible
Responsibilities
- Capture data
- Process data reliably at very high scale
- Build a workflow/delivery engine
- Make high-level architecture decisions
- Optimize a niche part of our pipeline that massively increases throughput
- Work directly with customers to build something to help them send data to a 3rd party

Have carried a pager and have dealt with incidents
