Join Magnet Forensics as an Electrical Test Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge digital investigative software. Execute and analyze electrical test plans for embedded hardware products, operate and maintain electrical test equipment, and analyze PCB schematics and layout files. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret test results and troubleshoot issues. Develop automated test scripts using Python to streamline testing. This primarily remote position requires occasional visits to the Atlanta office. Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and programmable power supplies
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze PCB schematics, layout files, and Gerber files
- Experience developing, executing, and reviewing detailed hardware test plans
- Basic programming and scripting skills, particularly in Python, for test automation and data analysis
Responsibilities
- Execute, analyze and coauthor electrical test plans for embedded hardware products
- Operate and maintain standard electrical test equipment, including: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and programmable power supplies
- Analyze PCB schematics, layout files, and Gerber files to identify potential test issues and to debug hardware
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware design, firmware, FPGA, and manufacturing) to interpret test results, troubleshoot issues, and drive improvements
- Develop automated test scripts and tools, primarily using Python, to streamline the testing process and enhance repeatability
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with Keysight Signal Integrity Compliance suites (e.g. USB, PCIe, NVMe, etc)
- Experience with embedded firmware development in C
- Hands-on experience in PCB design and layout using modern ECAD tools (we primarily work in KiCad)
- Familiarity with FPGA development, particularly VHDL design targeting Xilinx devices and tools
