Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in human resources, with a significant focus on employee relations
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role managing employee relations teams
  • Proven ability to lead and resolve complex workplace investigations and disputes
  • Deep knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing DEIA-focused programs
  • Previously worked as a contractor or direct hire at USAID
  • Experience hiring, managing or working with PSCs
  • Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications, Microsoft Office 365
  • Must be able to obtain a public trust or greater

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of organization-wide employee relations strategies and initiatives to promote employee satisfaction and engagement
  • Serve as the senior advisor to executive leadership on complex employee relations issues, providing data-driven recommendations and solutions
  • Lead the resolution of high-level employee grievances, workplace conflicts, and disciplinary actions while ensuring fairness and consistency
  • Establish and refine policies, procedures, and programs to support DEIA goals and ensure legal compliance
  • Monitor and analyze trends in employee relations metrics to identify potential risks and proactively address workplace concerns
  • Oversee the design and delivery of training programs for managers and employees on topics such as conflict resolution, leadership development, and organizational policies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and serve as a key liaison with legal counsel for employee-related matters
  • Build and lead a high-performing employee relations team, providing mentorship, strategic direction, and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with HR, legal, and compliance teams to address employee relations challenges and align them with organizational goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other advanced HR certifications
  • Experience in federal government or international development sectors
  • Strong background in change management and organizational development
