Summary

Requirements

  • Master's in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Power Systems, or related disciplines
  • 1+ year experience in an energy optimization focused role in industry or academics
  • 1+ year of general Software Development experience
  • Optimization methods and commercial solvers (e.g., GAMS, Goroubi, CPLEX, Xpress)
  • Ability to communicate with impact and confidence, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic

Responsibilities

Solve complex analytic problems to make mission critical decisions for energy supply by translating requirements into model formulation, implementing forecasting and optimization models for operation and valuation of renewable resources and battery storage, developing both prototype models and production software, supporting existing commercial software and production systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Power Systems, or related disciplines
  • Familiarity with relational database platforms (Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres)
  • Interest in learning about and deploying novel software solutions
  • Prior knowledge of, or strong interest in learning about wholesale electricity markets
  • Python and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy)
