Remote Engineer, Applied Researcher (Distributed Systems)

Summary

Join Logos, a movement supporting the development of the decentralised web, as an engineer and researcher to contribute to the implementation of specifications, design new protocol solutions, and build distributed systems.

Requirements

• Coding experience in Rust
• Research experience in Distributed Systems, ideally byzantine settings
• Strong background in Computer Science and Math, or a related area
• Keen communicator, eager to share your work in a wide variety of contexts
• Strong interest in privacy, censorship-resistant technology, open protocols

Responsibilities

• Implement specifications developed during research
• Design new protocol solutions
• Design, specify, verify and build distributed systems by leveraging formal and experimental techniques
• Build proof of concepts and prepare executable specifications for the development team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for an open-source organization
• Knowledge of cryptography
• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related area
• Solid knowledge of mathematics (probability and statistics are often use in our research)
• Track record of scientific publications
