Summary

Join TrueML, a financial software company focused on improving customer experiences for distressed borrowers, as an Engineer II on the Consumer Payment Portal product team. You will contribute to building and extending the payments platform infrastructure, ensuring safe, secure, and consistent financial transactions. This role involves collaborating with payment processing partners, identifying new workflows, and developing a seamless front-end web experience for consumers. You will work closely with UX, Design, and Experimentation teams to enhance the user experience and provide flexible payment options. As an Engineer II, you will be responsible for writing high-quality code, building scalable services, contributing to documentation, and participating in on-call rotations. You will also be involved in architecture and implementation decisions, brainstorming new ideas, and influencing team processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Understands system architecture and programming paradigms; learns new technical areas and ships code independently
  • Proficient in a codebase area (e.g., front-end, service) and with Golang, TypeScript, or Python
  • Demonstrates continuous learning, improvement, and the ability to suggest/implement technical solutions
  • Communicates assumptions, opportunities, risks, and complex systems to diverse audiences
  • Scopes/estimates stories, communicates limitations, and manages time off effectively
  • Owns/delivers tasks, understands domain scope, and handles production issues
  • Self-directs work, gathers context, and considers code observability, maintainability, and efficiency
  • Documents/refactors code and follows standards/procedures
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, participates in recruiting, and engages in team activities

Responsibilities

  • Writes high-quality, clean, concise, well-tested code
  • Builds highly scalable distributed services with some guidance from senior staff
  • Gets involved in documentation such as code docs, wikis, release plans, etc
  • Has a clear set of expertise (e.g., React, NextJS, Golang, Python, etc.)
  • Contributes to architecture and/or implementation decisions within the team
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation, providing timely response and resolution to production issues
