Summary

Join OpenX as a Director, Engineering and lead multiple engineering teams building and scaling AI-powered products. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Ph.D. a plus)
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years leading multiple engineering teams
  • Prior experience in the ad tech ecosystem or similar high-performance domains
  • Proven track record of delivering complex AI/ML-driven products at scale, ideally in high-throughput, low-latency environments
  • Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience managing large codebases, setting technical direction, and instituting best practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the O&O technical strategy and vision in close partnership with Product leadership
  • Lead multiple high-performing engineering teams, setting clear goals and ensuring the timely delivery of robust, scalable software solutions
  • Collaborate with Data Science leadership to translate research and models into production-grade systems
  • Ensure technical excellence through best practices in software design, code quality, observability, and automation
  • Foster a strong engineering culture of innovation, accountability, mentorship, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to drive consistency across the platform and software development lifecycle (SDLC), establishing standards and practices that support scalability and long-term growth
  • Partner with business stakeholders to align engineering priorities with company goals and deliver measurable impact

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Experience with modern languages and frameworks such as Python, and Go
  • Experience partnering with Data Science and Product teams to deliver AI/ML capabilities
