Summary

The Engineering Intern will work on the development of Mercedes-Benz's e-Drive systems, focusing on power electronics lab experiments, data analysis, collaboration with lead engineers, and project management. The internship is a full-time, onsite position in Farmington Hills, MI, running from August 1st to December 20th, 2024. Ideal candidates are Masters or PhD students with experience in power electronics, simulation methodologies, and proficiency in office tools.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in electrical, electronics, and/or computer engineering
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3+ years of experience required
  • Working experience in power electronics, Simulation experience and collaborative workspace confluence and Jira
  • Strong knowledge about power electronic at systems level
  • Deep understanding of electric vehicle design and architecture
  • Proficiency with the office tools such as MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Project Management Skills, including effective communication and time management
  • Experience in performing simulations using tools such as LTSpice, SIMBA, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment such as shared Cloud Drives, Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Teams
  • Highly motivated to solve real world engineering problems

Responsibilities

  • Develop functional simulation models of power electronic components
  • Construct a comprehensive EV powertrain simulation model to characterize semiconductor impact on performance
  • Conduct competitor analysis (benchmarking) of power electronics solutions and create an interactive, visual database capturing key performance metrics
  • Utilize data from project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence to build visual dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau, etc., tracking the status of various project-related activities
  • Maintain regular and proactive communication with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, delays, risks, and challenges

Preferred Qualifications

Pursuing Masters’ degree in electrical, electronics, and/or computer engineering with commulative GPA of 3.5 or more
