Remote Engineering Manager

Join Sprout Social's Engineering team as an Engineering Manager to lead a high-functioning team, grow and tune software services stack, and partner with cross-functional leaders. With a focus on collaborative problem-solving, you'll help the team deliver quality results and navigate growth and change.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting back-end software in a production environment
• 2+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Run a high functioning, well-motivated engineering team and lead them to iteratively deliver quality results
• Leverage your experience in building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable software systems to grow and tune our software services stack
• Lead the team through complicated product and technical road maps, and partner with cross functional and engineering leaders to align on the strategy for your team and support its execution
• Grow your team of engineers by example with effective feedback, coaching, and career development
• Work directly alongside the team by defining roadmap and requirements, coordinating project execution, upholding development standards, and participating in a manager support rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing enterprise level distributed applications using distributed queuing systems, service-oriented architectures, etc
• Experience with data systems operating at scale, Elasticsearch, MySQL, HBase, etc
• Experience programming in an object oriented language such as Java, Python, C# or C++
