Summary

Join Fastly's Platform Trust & Orchestration Team as an Engineering Manager and lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs). You will own the technical roadmap for Platform Trust & Orchestration systems, mentor a high-performing team, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. This role focuses on innovation, driving strategic improvements, and building foundational infrastructure for secure orchestration and trust services. The ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of experience managing Platform or SRE teams, 8+ years of related technical experience, and a proven ability to drive technical roadmaps and facilitate collaboration. The position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement with preferred locations in New York, Denver, or San Francisco, and includes a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience managing Platform or Site Reliability Engineering teams
  • 8+ years of related technical experience with distributed systems and infrastructure as code
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a durable technical roadmap and facilitate effective collaboration in cross-functional teams
  • Experience building and automating large scale production infrastructure in public cloud and on-prem environments. Using TFE or similar technologies
  • Extensive hands on experience working in a Linux environment with a solid understanding of system internals and performance optimization

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical roadmap for Platform Trust & Orchestration systems while advocating for continuous improvement across the organization
  • Lead and mentor a distributed, high‑performing team of software and infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, reliability, and security across Fastly’s global platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders using a product-owner mindset to define clear roadmaps and priorities
  • Clearly communicate upward and outward to set expectations for roadmaps and deliverables with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kubernetes, PKI, and configuration management tools like Chef
  • Proficiency in Python or Go
  • Migrating physical or cloud-based workloads to new hosting platforms
  • Experience collaborating with compliance/security teams
