Join Octopus Deploy's Cloud Authentication team as a Senior Engineering Manager and lead a high-performing team of engineers focused on enhancing the security and availability of hosted authentication providers for Octopus Cloud. You will contribute to Customer Identity and Access Management projects, working on a strategically important part of the business. Requirements

  • Has experience leading a large team of engineers delivering business impact, with a well-equipped managerial toolbox
  • Has successfully managed teams in a remote-first environment
  • Has worked in a cross-functional team alongside other leaders such as a Product Manager, Designer, or similar
  • Has a technical background in software engineering
  • Takes accountability for the people in their team, the way they work, and the results they deliver
  • Identifies and diagnoses dysfunction in their team, and resolves it in a timely manner to ensure your team performs at its best
  • Confidently coaches developers at any level to reach their full potential
  • Confidently helps their team navigate their way through large organisational change
  • Gives and receives "radically candid" feedback that challenges and demonstrates care

Responsibilities

  • Lead a sustainable, high-performing team of autonomous engineers, holding them accountable for their results and letting them manage how they get there
  • Focus on a strategically important part of our business, across areas critical to operational security as well as key user experiences for customers, in the identity and access management areas of our products
  • Clarifying the goals, roles, development, and execution plans for your team
  • Help your team understand our strategy and how they contribute to the big picture
  • Proactively coaching people remotely, accelerating them along their personal growth trajectory
  • Contribute positively to how we approach people and culture in the engineering team, including attracting and growing talent, supporting those who are thriving and also those who are struggling, building our culture, and fostering great career growth
  • Influence and uplift our practices by advocating across teams, functions and departments
