Summary
Join Western Digital's firmware development team as an experienced Engineering Program Manager (EPM). This role involves technical management of the SSD firmware development lifecycle, from planning and execution to lessons learned. Requirements
- Have MS/BS of EE, CE, CS or equivalent
- Have more than 6 years of development experience in complex firmware/software/hardware project
- Have more than 2 years of management experience of program and/or engineering team
- Have knowledge of structured development methodology commonly used by firmware development team such as agile methodology
- Have adaptability, accountability and responsibility
- Have capability to make commitment and drive for the result
Responsibilities
- Provide technical management of SSD firmware development life-cycle starting from its planning, execution and lesson-learn and provide the overall status of firmware team's activity to the various levels of audiences
- Work closely with global EPM team in SSD firmware and seek for continuous improvement in development process
- Work closely with FW(Firmware) team and its leaders to support them to manage the planning, execution and retrospective through various metrics such as Agile methodology, Scrum/Sprint and proprietary tools as well as industry standard tools
- Work as chief-of-staff in firmware organization staff, and be responsible for multiple program executions in parallel
- Manage the budget and procurement needed for firmware team
- Be adaptive, self-motivated, self-directed and goal-oriented
