Requirements

  • Educational Background: Technical degree (CS or CE), or coding bootcamp certificate of completion coupled with strong practical experience in tech industry
  • Proven Experience: 5+ years working with APIs and backend systems; a record of solving technical problems with code; hands on experience with some of the following: OAS, Async, Kafka / RabbitMQ, API virtualization, Unit testing frameworks (Junit, Jest, xUnit, NUnit etc), GraphQL, CI/CD tooling
  • Customer Focused: Experience working directly with customers or internal clients to resolve technical issues in a solution/sales engineering role, or similar (TAM, Dev Advocacy, etc)
  • Leadership Engagement: Skilled in demonstrating and presenting to senior leadership (SVP and C-level)
  • A People First Mindset: Your first inclination for solving a problem is to talk with the people involved, and brainstorm as a group

Responsibilities

  • Be the Technical Expert: Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise sales reps, our strategic sellers, showcasing the value of our solutions
  • Lead with Solutions: Tackle technical challenges with creative solutions that are built on the SmartBear advantage
  • Show Value with Demos: Develop and deliver compelling, engaging, and inspiring product demonstrations, webinars, and videos
  • Strategize for Success: Partner with sales reps to navigate complex POCs and develop winning account strategies
  • Engage Senior Leaders: Build relationships with executive level sponsors by bridging the gap between technology solutions and business outcomes
  • Tell Our Story: Work with sales reps to go beyond the tools by crafting and communicating the SmartBear story effectively
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Adoption teams to drive product success and customer satisfaction after the deal closes
  • Own Outcomes: Assume responsibility for all components of the technical win by completing RFPs, building POC checklists, tailored demo environments, etc
  • Travel Occasionally: When opportunities arise, represent our solutions at industry events, trade shows, and customer on-sites (up to 10% travel)
