Summary

Join TULLOCH, a leading Canadian consulting engineering firm, as an Environmental Engineer! Based in Ontario, you will report to the Environmental Lead and provide leadership and operational support to the environmental team. Requirements

  • You are willing to travel
  • You have thorough knowledge of provincial (Ontario Regulation 153/04, Ontario Regulation 406/19, Ontario Regulation 407/19, etc.), and federal (CCME) regulations and guidelines for contaminated site assessments
  • You make decisions within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
  • You can pivot and alter approach to accomplish desired results
  • You are trusted with the freedom to work independently while contributing to the overall team success
  • University degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in Ontario is required. Licensing in other provinces within Canada is considered an asset
  • Over 6 years of consulting experience in the environmental field in Ontario
  • Experience in contaminated site investigations (Phase I and II ESAs)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills, strong work ethic, problem solving and decision-making skills, self-initiative, and eagerness to learn
  • Valid Class β€œG” driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced and challenging environment on a variety of environmental engineering projects
  • Provide leadership, oversight and operational support to environmental staff in the areas of environmental site assessment, environmental remediation and risk assessment, designated substance assessment and remediation, excess soils assessment, re-use and disposal and other related environmental assignments within the framework of Ontario and Federal Regulations and Guidelines
  • Serve as a resource to clients and other TULLOCH divisions in regards to environmental assessment and compliance requirements
  • Prepare and review proposals, technical deliverables, other documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Project Management and Construction Administration
  • Liaise with clients, build client relations, and advance business development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualified Person designation is considered an asset
  • Experience completing Records of Site Condition (Phase One, Phase Two, and Remediation) is considered an asset
  • Experience in Excess Soils Management (Ontario Regulation 406/19)
  • Experience in soil and groundwater remediation
  • Experience in preparing Risk Management Plans is considered an asset
  • Experience in Solid Waste Management, Environmental Compliance Approvals, Compliance Monitoring Programs, and Landfill Closure Plans is considered an asset
  • Experience in designated substance surveys, asbestos and lead abatement, and indoor air quality assessments is considered an asset
