Summary

Join AlphaSense as an Associate and support our model library by initiating coverage on new companies, improving existing models, and developing expertise to support product evolution. You will contribute to our product roadmap and work with a high-performing team to deliver exceptional client service. This role involves building and reviewing financial models, updating models for earnings season, conducting financial statement analysis and forecasting, and developing sub-sector expertise. You will also document best practices, support analysts, conduct research and due diligence, and participate in team training. The position offers opportunities for growth and development within a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Compensation includes a base salary ranging from CAD $53,000 to $62,500, plus a performance-based bonus and a generous benefits program.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in equity research or equivalent experience/education
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or your sector
  • Strong Excel proficiency and desire to improve modeling capabilities
  • Curiosity about equities and capital markets
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and collaborative spirit
  • 2+ years of experience in equity research or financial modeling
  • Strong financial modeling skills and sector understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and deliver accurate outputs
  • Leadership traits and/or experience training or mentoring peers
  • Proven ability to support client service and contribute to team strategy

Responsibilities

  • Build and support the review of detailed financial models on both existing and new coverage across all global geographies
  • Update models for earnings season
  • Contribute to sub-sector-specific and coverage wide model improvements
  • Conduct historical financial statement analysis and future period forecasting
  • Develop sub-sector expertise to support the development of modeling standards, dashboards for comparative analysis, and new model features
  • Document sector and subsector modeling best practices
  • Support Analysts in providing exceptional client service to all Tegus clients
  • Conduct other ad-hoc general research and other company due diligence
  • Participate in training new members of the Research Team

Preferred Qualifications

  • A CFA path or MBA interest
  • Progress towards CFA or MBA
