Etl Data Engineer

Summary

Join RYZ Labs as a Remote ETL/Data Engineer based in Argentina or Uruguay. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services, Snowflake, and dbt. You will optimize data workflows, collaborate with data scientists and engineers, and implement data quality checks. Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with strong experience in data engineering
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services, including: Amazon S3 (data lakes), AWS Glue Jobs/Workflows, AWS Glue Data Catalog, and Amazon Athena (querying)
• Experience working with data warehouses (preferably Snowflake)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services, Snowflake, and dbt
• Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to develop high-quality data solutions
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and documentation to ensure data integrity
• Contribute to data governance best practices, ensuring compliance with security and privacy regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in dbt (Data Build Tool) for transformation and modeling
• Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration
• Familiarity with Apache Iceberg for data lake management
• Hands-on experience with Great Expectations or dbt tests for data validation
• Strong understanding of data governance best practices
• Experience with Astronomer, a managed Airflow platform
• Knowledge of Iceberg-Python (PyIceberg) framework for optimized data lake storage
