Etl Developer

Summary

Join our team as an ETL Developer and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of ETL and reporting solutions using our client's open-source platform. This remote, contract position requires collaboration with various IT and business teams to ensure solutions meet internal and external needs. You will monitor project progress, report status, and proactively identify potential issues. Strong communication and technical skills are essential, along with experience in BI, ETL, and reporting. Experience in a large company or IT consultancy, and within the freight, forwarding, or logistics industry is advantageous.

Requirements

• SQL knowledge (Pentaho)
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced experience with design and development of ETL solutions
• Experience with data warehousing concepts including data warehouse modelling, cubes, star and snowflake schemas, facts, dimensions, OLAP vs OLTP, etc
• Scrum, Agile and Kanban experience
• Ability to translate technical terms to operational terms and vice versa
• Ability to perform technical analysis and produce effective business requirements documentation
• Experience in BI, ETL and reporting

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver ETL and Reporting solutions utilizing client’s Open-Source platform (Pentaho PDI)
• Work with various IT and business teams to ensure BI, ETL and reporting solutions are delivered in accordance with internal and external business needs
• Effectively communicate regarding the status of deliverables and focus on the timely delivery of work products
• Operate in a global setting and impact the IT organization as well as business lines (IT products or processes)
• Deliver BI, ETL and reporting solutions within agreed timeframe and budget, working directly with business and other IT teams as needed
• Clearly monitor progress on assigned development activities and routinely report back status
• Proactively identify and report areas where overrun of time or budget may occur, requesting additional approval for more time before continuing
• Interact with internal customers and other IT resources
• Work closely with IT Business Analysts to understand and gather requirements, provision data, and design and build solutions
• Follow client’s IT Demand process

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of operating in large company or recognized IT consultancy
• Working in Freight, Forwarding or Logistics industry
• Experience with Snowflake, Cassandra and Elasticsearch
