Join Twilio as the Executive Communications Director, R&D, and become the trusted communications partner for the Chief Product Officer & Head of R&D. You will craft impactful messaging to elevate the CPO's voice internally and externally, reinforcing Twilio's vision and leadership. This highly visible role involves developing executive-level content, managing communications, and supporting change management initiatives across Twilio's R&D organization. You will work with key partners, including the Management Team, R&D Leadership, and Corporate Communications. The position is remote, with approximately 25% anticipated travel. Requirements
- 10+ years experience in communications, including a minimum 3 years in a dedicated executive communications role
- 5+ years in the tech industry
Responsibilities
- Develop an annual executive communications strategy, plan and calendar that positions the Chief Product Officer as the transformative leader behind Twilioโs innovation story
- Ghostwrite impactful, forward-thinking communications that tell Twilioโs innovation story across channels including keynotes, internal presentations, blogs, press and social media
- Develop content to represent R&D at quarterly Company All Hands meetings and other key internal companywide meetings (Sales Kickoff, Leadership Offsites, Board Meetings)
- Develop content for R&D function-level communications and events that supports Twilioโs unique Builder culture
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners to inform CPO communications strategy including Twilioโs Management Team, R&D Leadership, Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and more
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing for, working directly with and influencing CEOs, C-level executives, and SVPs
- Strong executive presence and ability to advise on communications strategy to all levels of the organization
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across R&D, GTM, Marketing, HR, PR, and Internal Comms teams
- Strong business acumen with exemplary editing and writing skills
- Experience in external-facing thought leadership (blogs, event keynotes, social media)
- Proficiency in creating slide desks for large audience presentations
- Strong ability to synthesize complex topics (AI, data, product strategy) into compelling, digestible content for diverse audiences
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and strategic messaging for executive leaders
