Summary

Join Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) as their Enterprise Director of Infrastructure Engineering (EDIE) and lead the strategic direction of GHXโ€™s infrastructure cloud resources. You will manage cloud practices and product delivery, acting as an expert in delivering business needs through technology solutions. This role requires strong communication skills to articulate strategies and value propositions to executives. The EDIE will influence operational practices, shifting from a reactive to a proactive approach. You will need extensive experience in cloud services, architecture, and team leadership. Requirements

  • Manage Infra (database, servers, networks), Mongo Atlas, and other managed services
  • Set up and manage hybrid environments (AWS + Colo) while balancing use for cost
  • Create financial models and evaluate realization of ROI
  • Setup FinOps program for helping teams manage expense and communicate per unit costs and forecasting spend
  • Capacity measurements to understand our runway and potential growth
  • Create an efficient NOC that reduces burden on leaders and maximizes system up time
  • Asset management and CMDB experience
  • Lead incident management including assisting teams to drive incidents and MTTR down
  • Expertise creating a running disaster recovery program including testing
  • Experience with business alerting and monitoring, measured from customer perspective
  • Experience with high availability architecture and design including leading the effort to containerize software
  • Ability to build a Kubernetes platform or equivalent for orchestration
  • Experience executing rolling deployments
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines that do security scans, code quality scans, unit testing, and automated testing
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, engineering or a relevant area
  • 10+ years of infrastructure experience in a SaaS environment
  • 5+ years' experience in a Cloud Leadership role or Cloud Architecture role using AWS
  • Experience running high transaction system with high load and low latency requirements
  • Experience managing large teams (40+ people) and scaling a business appropriately based on available resources
  • Technical Strength in cloud infrastructure architectures, application architecture, engineering processes and SDLC
  • SME strength in infra functions, DR, BCP, Incident management, problem management, BCP, asset management, and network management
  • Experience with offshore

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction, planning and execution for the usage of cloud services
  • Review the business and technology plans for cloud architecture, tools and systems. Lead the definition of Standards, Policies and Procedures and best practices for the usage of cloud-based services
  • Identify solutions that represent opportunities to leverage cloud services and architectures by evaluating quality attributes, technology risk, capacity variability, and other factors where a cloud native architecture solution can add benefit to the overall solution
  • Understand the financial impacts of cloud based architectural decisions and lead cloud cost management solutions, forecasting and proactive cloud management practices
  • Develop and refine operational processes and tools to ensure availability, reliability, security, scalability, repeatability, and standardization
  • Mature and refine process management, monitoring, alerting, escalation, risk management and SLAs through the implementation and use of KPIs and reporting analytics
  • Establish relationships with leadership across growth, delivery, solution management, and support leadership to ensure cross-functional alignment at scale
  • Develop and manage architectural and engineering efforts to action against this vision and strategy
  • Develop high performing teams and Cloud practice, with strong accountability and overall technology leadership experience
  • Build and communicate value propositions and business cases with senior executives
  • Ownership of the managed services contract for the Engineering and Cloud practice
  • Provide frequent, quality and transparent communication to all internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-year experience working with cloud service providers such as AWS, large scale distributed systems principles, cloud native platforms, CI/CD principles, software architecture, systems configuration and management, network architecture and management, operations & security engineering
  • Experience in architecture, engineering and operations frameworks with Cloud Service Providers (specifically AWS)
  • Experiencing in working with and leading outsourced managed service providers in a cloud practice
  • Experience running highly automated and secure Cloud Platforms with a product and customer mindset
  • Excel in all areas of strategy development, including project management, analysis, problem solving, verbal and written communication, consensus building, and people development
