Summary
Join Scout Motors and be a part of an iconic brand revolutionizing the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace. Manage feasibility, planning, design, and construction management for corporate facilities and properties. Collaborate with stakeholders, manage vendors and contractors, and lead multiple construction projects from planning to completion. Oversee contractor work, manage project budgets, implement safety protocols, and act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders. Maintain project documentation and address challenges to ensure project success. This role may be based in Columbia, South Carolina initially or remotely, but will be at a Scout Motors corporate location in early 2025. Relocation may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities and/or construction project management
- Experience planning, designing, building, and maintaining large, complex facilities (Tech, manufacturing, labs, industrial)
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve service/efficiency and reduce cost/schedule through strategic design and/or procurement methods
- Strong financial management discipline including budgeting, tracking, and forecasting
- Proficient in understanding management agreements, contract language, construction specifications and drawings
- Commitment to finding solutions to problems and improving the employee experience
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, succinct manner
- Excellent computer and systems knowledge, including MS Office suite, CAD, Bluebeam, etc
- A passion for building something new
Responsibilities
- Manage feasibility, planning, design, construction management for corporate facilities and properties
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather operational project requirements with an emphasis on workplace experience
- Evaluate, select, and manage external vendors, contractors and consultants for facilities and construction projects
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects, from initial planning and design through to completion. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Oversee and coordinate the work of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, financial forecasts, and expense tracking. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on all construction sites to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, potential risks, and milestones
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction. Develop and implement solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred
- Experience building out new facilities in a startup/high-growth environment preferred
