Summary
Join OrganOx, a global medical device company, as a Field Service Engineer based in the Netherlands. You will be responsible for the on-site maintenance of complex electro-mechanical medical devices used in organ preservation across Europe. The role involves traveling to hospitals and research facilities, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. You will also conduct root cause investigations, complete necessary documentation, and manage a stock of components and consumables. This remote position requires regular travel across Europe and collaboration with the Technical Services Manager. Requirements
- Three years or more regulated industry experience in servicing and repairing of complex critical devices
- A good and broad working knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering systems
- A good track record of demonstrating analytical problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm, good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to produce Technical Reports to a high standard both in terms of technical content, presentation and written English
- Freedom to travel within Europe to carry out servicing or other device maintenance activities as required
- A willingness to work unsocial hours, when necessary
- Possession of a European Driving License
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English. (essential)
- HND or equivalent in electrical, electronic, mechanical or biomedical engineering, or other relevant discipline (essential)
- A good understanding of complex electro-mechanical systems and software (essential)
- Excellent knowledge of key office software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint (essential)
- Good hands-on experience with a broad range of test equipment (essential)
Responsibilities
- Organizing and providing service and repair of the OrganOx metra devices placed within European customer facilities with
- Travel to hospitals and research facilities within the European region
- Carrying out routine maintenance procedures and liaising directly with customers regarding organizing routine services and other maintenance needs of OrganOx devices
- Carrying out root cause investigations and repairs of OrganOx devices, maintaining high standards of integrity and respect
- Carrying out Installation Testing, Post-Repair Functional Testing and completing all documentation in compliance with Good Documentation Practice and the OrganOx Quality Management SystemEnsuring work orders and service visits are completed within set time frames., showcasing teamwork and a passion for transplantation
- Carrying out major back-to-base routine services, troubleshooting, repairs, pre-commissioning and software/hardware upgrades on OrganOx devices at OrganOx Maintenance Centre/ warehouse in Amsterdam, when necessary
- Performing tasks covered by OrganOx Maintenance Centreโs Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring its compliance as a workshop for critical medical equipment
- Short-term covering for the urgent technical needs of devices placed outside Europe when the engineer assigned for that region is not available
- Working with the Technical Services Manager to maintain a stock of components and consumables necessary for the technical support of the devices within Europe
- Managing and maintenance, including recalibration, of various test equipment, battery calibrators, tools and accessories required during providing technical service within European region
- Complete technical documentation as required under the regulatory frameworks and standards for medical devices
- Completing test reports and service records to a high standard
- To assist the Technical services Manager in maintaining the technical documentation and device history records
- Adhere to the letter and spirit of OrganOxโs Code of Conduct and all other company policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience servicing, repairing and testing of medical devices within hospitals environments and research facilities (desirable)
- Experience of working with Safety and Quality Standards applicable to medical devices (desirable)
