Summary
Join Tide as a Policy & Procedures Specialist and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our global Finance function. You will develop, document, and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk. As a subject matter expert, you will interpret regulations and advise on Tide's compliance approach. Collaborate with various finance teams and the 2nd Line of Defense to align policy approaches. You will conduct process mapping, analysis, and provide training and support to the Finance team. Monitor adherence to policies, investigate deviations, and stay informed of regulatory changes and best practices. Oversee the implementation of new policies and procedures, coordinating with stakeholders for smooth execution.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in a finance/accounting role with a focus on policies and procedures
- Proven expertise in developing and maintaining policies and procedures
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Experience in process mapping and analysis techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Comprehensive Policies and Procedures
- Document key finance and accounting processes, including: Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cash Management, Revenue Recognition, Expense Management, Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting, Tax Compliance, Internal Controls
- Ensure all policies and procedures are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders
- Conduct regular reviews to identify improvements and maintain compliance with evolving regulations and best practices
- Conduct Process Mapping and Analysis
- Utilize process mapping techniques to document and analyze existing workflows
- Identify key control points and potential risks within each process
- Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control
- Provide Training and Support
- Deliver training sessions on new and existing policies and procedures for Finance team members
- Offer ongoing guidance on policy and procedure-related inquiries
- Ensure Compliance
- Monitor adherence to established policies and procedures across the Finance function
- Investigate deviations and work with management to implement corrective actions
- Stay Informed of Regulatory Changes and Best Practices
- Track developments in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Update policies and procedures accordingly to maintain compliance
- Project Management
- Oversee the implementation of new policies and procedures
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and adoption
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP)
- Experience in a finance, banking, or regulated environment
