Join Employment Hero as our Financial Accountant and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our global financial operations. You will work with the Finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager, and leverage AI-driven tools. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely global financial reporting, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, acting as a key contact for auditors, and driving process improvements through automation and AI. Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualified, with 4–6 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Background in Audit, Tax, or Business Services (ideally from public practice)
  • Minimum 4 years of Australian tax/accounting experience; multi-geo exposure a plus
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communicator with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a can-do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accurate and timely global financial reporting and compliance obligations through to October 2026
  • Preparing and maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations across all entities
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, and supporting regulatory and tax reporting processes
  • Driving process improvements using automation and AI to streamline core accounting functions
  • Complete accurate monthly reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies to maintain data integrity
  • Prepare and submit tax returns (BAS/VAT, PAYG, payroll tax, FBT) across AU, NZ, UK, SG, and MY, ensuring full compliance
  • Manage submissions for government surveys, payment times, and insurance renewals
  • Assist with weekly forecasting for tax and payroll obligations
  • Lead audit prep and coordination, including schedules, documentation, and auditor liaison
  • Ensure accuracy of financial transactions and support timely month- and year-end close
  • Adhere to AASB/IFRS, internal policies, and statutory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows using automation and AI
  • If experienced, support payroll processing and employee share plan admin

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with NetSuite, Zuora, or FloQast is a bonus
