Financial Data and Research Analyst in India

Summary

We are looking for a Financial Data and Research Analyst to join our growing team at MerQube based in Bangalore. The role involves supporting the Product Management team's initiatives with a focus on equity indices and products.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree required
• Master’s degree in a relevant field or progress towards a CFA Charter holder status a plus
• 1-5 years of relevant work experience in financial services industry
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, comfort with large financial datasets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill. The position requires interacting with sophisticated clients
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a global team
• Demonstrated ability to handle steep learning curves; Candidate should be very comfortable dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty

Responsibilities

• Support the team’s initiatives globally with a focus on equity indices and products
• Identify and manage all facets and steps needed for the launch of new products and indices, including user acceptance testing
• Perform data validation on index calculations and other derived data
• Analyze and validate incoming data sets
• Support content creation (collateral, white papers, blogs) for new and existing products

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming skills (Python, SQL, others)
• Knowledge of financial data packages and familiarity with vendors such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Barra, Axioma, etc
