Summary

Join Genius Sports, a rapidly growing sports technology company, as a SAOT Operations Manager. In this role, you will lead and manage the Semi-Automated Offside Technology operations, working closely with stakeholders to ensure partnership success. Key responsibilities include managing stakeholder relationships, mastering the tracking system, troubleshooting system failures, and making time-critical decisions regarding live data. The ideal candidate possesses significant experience in stakeholder management, a strong understanding of football rules, and the ability to work under pressure. The role is primarily based in Tubize, Belgium, with the option of working remotely 1-2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and French
  • Previous significant experience managing key stakeholder relationships (both external and internal)
  • Excellent knowledge of football and the rules
  • Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment
  • Knowledge and experience with definitional sports terms and markings
  • Prior experience with making time-critical judgment calls regarding live data processing, engineering support
  • Prior experience collaborating live with remote colleagues
  • Understanding of the current landscape and recent past of major professional sports leagues
  • A strong tolerance for repetitive tasks
  • Attention to detail; speed and accuracy are essential
  • Must be able to start immediately / with minimal notice
  • Must be able and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able and available to work according to the various sporting league schedules, which includes holidays during the regular season (including day after Christmas Day (Boxing Day) and New Year's Day)
  • Must possess flexibility, including early morning and late evenings

Responsibilities

  • Have a strong focus on engaging with stakeholders, managing feedback, and overseeing the success of the partnership
  • Master and have complete command over the entire tracking and event system and processes
  • Be the knowledge bank for game operations to identify and troubleshoot system failures
  • Influence operational staffing decisions in synchronization with engineering development and client service-level agreements
  • Evaluate data discrepancies
  • Maintain and develop documentation
  • Offer operational support on game days
  • Collaborate with a large and diverse international staff of peers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent in Flemish
  • Previous experience in a live broadcast production and video replay environment across a range of sports (ideally football)
  • Previous experience in broadcast graphics
  • Previous experience in offsite officiating
  • Ability to present opinions in a group setting
  • Strong desire and aptitude to learn new skills as well as build on top of current strengths
  • Accountable to self-prioritise current and upcoming workloads
