Summary
Join Mozilla.ai, a leader in open-source, trustworthy AI, as our first Senior Developer Relations expert. You will shape our developer engagement, building community initiatives across various platforms. Lead community engagement efforts, plan events, collaborate with engineering and product teams, and contribute to our digital presence. Use analytics to improve strategies and report on key metrics. This role requires technical advocacy experience, strong communication skills, technical fluency, and open-source project experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with DevRel essentials and international travel.
Requirements
- Have experience in technical advocacy , community relations , or a similar role
- Are a clear and compelling communicator with strong writing skills and a love for storytelling
- Have technical fluency and enjoy translating complex ideas for a range of audiences
- Have experience working with or contributing to open source projects
- Are energized by building new things from scratch and collaborating across functions
- Have hosted or spoken at developer events or supported others in doing so
- Are familiar with DevRel essentials such as GitHub, Markdown, and static site tools, and other DevRel essentials. Comfortable using and moderating Discord. Experience with platforms like YouTube or Twitch is a plus
- Are willing and able to undertake international travel on a regular basis
Responsibilities
- Champion the Developer Community : Be the voice and advocate of developers- internally and externally. Foster relationships with developers, open source contributors, and early users of Mozilla.ai technologies
- Lead Community Engagement : Build and scale our community initiatives across Discord, GitHub, forums, and other channels. Design programs that inspire participation, learning, and trust
- Shape Events : Plan, promote, and host virtual and in-person events (e.g., hackathons, webinars, user conferences, workshops, public-speaking engagements, community events)
- Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure documentation, changelogs, cookbooks and GitHub repos are helpful, up-to-date, and developer-friendly. Bring community insights back to the team to help shape our roadmap
- Contribute to Grow Our Digital Presence : create dev-focused content and updates for the Mozilla.ai website and social platforms
- Measure & Learn : Use community and engagement analytics to continuously improve what we do. Report on developer sentiment, community health, and engagement metrics to leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Youβve worked in a startup, AI/ML environment, or developer tools company
- Previous experience in a DevRel role is preferable but not essential
