Freelance Chinese Translator

Summary

Join us as a Freelance Chinese Translator to help localize and proofread our content into Simplified Chinese. Responsibilities include translating a range of material from English into Simplified Chinese, proofreading already translated content, transcreating marketing materials, and occasionally collaborating with the Localisation Coordinator and other linguists.

Requirements

• Native Chinese speaker
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Degree in translation (or language-related subject) or at least 2 years of experience as a translator
• Experience in technical translation; ability to follow technical documentation

Responsibilities

• Translate a range of material from English into Simplified Chinese
• Proofread already translated content
• Transcreate marketing materials, such as product taglines
• Occasionally collaborate with the Localisation Coordinator and other linguists to create reference material for your language (e.g. glossaries, style guide)

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of the importance of the industry terminology and its consistency
• Preferably, experience or interest in the music or creative industries
