Summary

Smart Design is hiring a Freelance Mid to Sr-level Backend Developer (Machine Learning/Python) for two client projects. The role is remote but may transition to full-time in NYC. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience with Python and machine learning, as well as expertise in various ML frameworks, annotation platforms, and pipelines. Familiarity with robotics software, AWS Sagemaker, web technologies, Ruby, Linux environments, and Docker are preferred.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time or freelance experience with Python and machine learning
• Experience with open-source computer vision object detection models such as Yolo, ResNet, DETR, etc
• Experience in Machine Learning/Data Science frameworks such as Pandas, Numpy, Sci-kit and/or OpenCV
• Experience with annotation platforms such as AWS Ground Truth, Voxel51, Scale/Nucleus etc
• Experience with Python-based ML training and inference pipelines
• Understanding of AWS infrastructure and suite of products
• Understanding of agile processes

Responsibilities

Work on two client projects as a Freelance Mid to Sr-level Backend Developer (Machine Learning/Python)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with robotics software frameworks such as ROS
• Experience with AWS Sagemaker (especially ‘Bring-Your-Own-Model’)
• Experience with Flask, Django, and other web technologies
• Experience with Ruby
• Familiarity programming within an Ubuntu Linux environment and embedded programming environments
• Familiarity with Docker
