Front End Software Engineer

Summary

Join GoodParty.org as a Front End Developer and contribute to building accessible, AI-powered tools for a headless CMS-based website. You will develop seamless web experiences to empower independent candidates. This role prioritizes building tools for the Growth team's website and programmatic webpages, and also involves developing products for candidates and elected officials. The ideal candidate possesses strong JavaScript, React.js, and CSS/SCSS skills, along with experience in Next.js and Tailwind CSS. Requirements

• You have experience with Next.js and TailWind (or another similar CSS framework)
• You’ve got strong JavaScript skills, experience with React.js, and excellent CSS/SCSS skills with the ability to create accurate, responsive designs. 70% of the work will be on the front-end
• You’re a proven A-player with 4+ years of relevant full-time work experience, ideally within a fast-paced 0 to 1 environment. We care more about talent and trajectory than years of experience
• You’re actively using AI, LLMs, and automation of tasks through AI and have done previous work or personal projects using these tools
• You have technical and analytical skills to diagnose, isolate, and resolve problems
• You’re able to work independently and collaborate with others when needed to iteratively solve problems in real-time. Our solution is desperately needed and the issues of our time are all bottlenecked by our corrupted democracy

Responsibilities

• Build intuitive, inclusive, and accessible tools that function seamlessly across desktop and mobile web
• Turn product requirements and designs into high-quality working software for candidates on our web-based platform
• Build out AI and LLM use cases and utilize best practices in AI into our product to help candidates get elected, as well as opportunistic projects to spread our message and movement
• Identify and maintain pixel-perfect site-wide design standards
• Collaborate with our lean, agile team using Kanban methodologies
• Work directly with product, design, and QA on your projects
• Report to the CTO. Partner closely with the Director of Growth

Preferred Qualifications

• You have experience working with headless CMS platforms like Sanity.io , Contentful or Strapi.io
• You have experience with Vercel and/or AWS
• You have experience studying, working, or volunteering in politics, political activism, or democracy reform
• You’re sick of sitting on the sidelines watching our democracy fail to meet its potential
