Frontend Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Frontend Engineer in the Supply domain at FREENOW. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to develop UI components, perform unit and integration testing, collaborate with backend engineers, and participate in Agile ceremonies among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily standups to provide updates on progress, discuss blockers, and plan the day’s work
• Participate in planning sessions to estimate and commit to tasks. Break down user stories into actionable frontend tasks
• Write and maintain clean, modular, and scalable code
• Implement responsive and accessible UI components based on design mockups
• Review code submitted by peers to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to best practices. Receive feedback on your own code and make necessary adjustments
• Write and maintain unit tests for frontend components. Implement integration tests to ensure seamless interaction between frontend and backend
• Identify and resolve bugs or performance issues in the application
• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure data flows correctly between the frontend and backend. Discuss API contracts and request modifications as needed
• Document new components, libraries, or features for future reference and onboarding purposes. Update existing documentation to reflect any changes made during development
• Participate in refinement sessions to clarify user stories and ensure they have clear acceptance criteria. Provide input on frontend considerations during story refinement
• Share knowledge with the team and in our frontend chapter
• Demonstrate features during reviews. Participate in retrospectives to discuss what went well, what could be improved, and plan action items for the next sprint

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to CSS-in-JS (with support for React Server Components), Playwright, CI/CD pipelines, Products that are multilanguage, Microfrontends, Semantic release
