Frontend React Developer

Summary

Join Bounteous as a skilled Frontend React Developer to contribute to the stability of our React Native mobile application. You will play a key role in debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing this large-scale app, ensuring a smooth user experience. This contract position involves triaging and resolving complex issues, analyzing connectivity problems, and diagnosing global service integration issues. You will utilize AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to track performance and proactively identify potential problems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience with React Native development and AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Triage, investigate, and resolve complex non-codefix issues in the React Native mobile application for both iOS and Android platforms
• Analyze and debug connectivity issues between the mobile app and backend services, focusing on the front-end request/response cycle
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to global service integrations, such as Google Maps, OAuth, and biometric authentication
• Use AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to review logs, track performance, and proactively identify potential issues
• Determine when issues require code changes and escalate with thorough technical analysis
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base with troubleshooting guides, issue resolutions, and FAQs
• Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
• Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
• Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
• Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of front-end development experience
• Proven hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting mobile applications built with React Native
• Strong understanding of both iOS and Android platforms, including configurations, permissions, and build processes
• Skilled in debugging REST APIs and analyzing JSON payloads using tools such as Postman
• Experience with core AWS services, especially CloudWatch for log analysis and monitoring; familiarity with S3 for asset management
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a passion for resolving technical challenges in live production environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams
• Ability to read and understand JavaScript/TypeScript code to identify potential bug sources prior to escalation
• Proficiency with ticketing systems such as Jira Service Management or Zendesk
• Familiarity with mobile monitoring tools like Sentry, New Relic, or Datadog
• Basic understanding of SQL queries to assist with preliminary data validation
