Full Stack Developer

Summary

Join Steer's newly formed team as a Staff Full Stack Developer to build greenfield products expanding their technical solutions for the auto repair industry. You will design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable, and secure web applications, working across the stack and contributing to the core CRM business. This role offers the opportunity to bring new ideas to life and shape the future of a growing platform. The position is 100% remote within the US and requires EST working hours. You will define frontend architecture, champion code quality and best practices, design scalable components, solve complex technical issues, contribute to DevOps, and embody a 'you build it, you own it' mentality. Requirements

• 5+ years of professional development experience in a web-based SaaS role
• Deep understanding and RESTful APIs and n-tier web applications
• Proven experience with at least one major back-end language and framework (e.g., C#/.Net, Node.js/Express, Python/Django/Flask, Ruby on Rails)
• Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with their core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Azure App Services)
• Proficiency with a modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and its ecosystem
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable and maintainable architecture
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis). Ability to design efficient schemas, inspect and optimize ORM generated queries, and manage data migrations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership : Define and drive the frontend architectural vision and strategy for Steer’s products
• Code Quality & Standards: Champion best practices in code quality, test automation (unit, integration, E2E), security, and maintainability. Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• System Design: Champion scalable and reusable frontend components and libraries that bridge between the design system and customer experience
• Problem Solve Complex Challenges: Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack, often in a fast-paced production environment
• Contribute to DevOps: Engage with our CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to ensure seamless deployments and operational efficiency
• Ownership: Embody a “you build it, you own it” mindset across the stack, always seeking to understand new aspects of the system

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Previous experience in a lead or mentoring role
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
