Requirements
- +2 years of experience as a Staff, Lead Engineer or similar level engineering role
- Proven ability to design, build and evolve scalable, maintainable full stack systems, with a strong understanding of architectural patterns and trade-offs
- Strong experience with modern backend technologies and architecture , paired with the ability to contribute confidently across the stack
- Deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript and solid experience building production-grade applications with React and modern web development tools
- Proficiency in working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB ) and search technologies (e.g. Elasticsearch )
- Experience integrating and designing REST APIs and a clear understanding of backendโfrontend communication patterns and security best practices
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining automated testing strategies ( unit, integration and e2e ) to ensure product reliability and maintainability
- Hands-on experience with Docker and familiarity with observability tools (e.g. New Relic, Sentry or similar) to ensure system health and performance
- Strong understanding of performance optimization techniques across the stack, with particular attention to backend performance and system scalability
- Exceptional collaboration, mentorship and communication skills. With a track record of supporting engineering growth, driving alignment and working effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in remote and fast-paced environments
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex features and systems across the stack, ensuring long-term scalability, maintainability and performance
- Partner with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to shape technical direction and ensure alignment with strategic priorities
- Elevate engineering and operational standards by identifying friction points and delivering impactful improvements that benefit beyond your immediate team
- Support the growth of engineers through mentoring, coaching and thoughtful feedback , fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture
- Spot opportunities to enhance the product experience and propose cross-cutting improvements that balance user impact and technical viability
- Resolve complex challenges across the frontend and backend (Such as performance bottlenecks, scalability constraints or architectural risks) setting the benchmark for technical quality
- Engage in high-impact technical decision-making across teams, including participating in the Architecture Forum to influence company-wide direction
- Conduct technical research and exploration to inform the engineering roadmap, contributing to innovation and future-looking solutions
- Play a key role in recruiting, interviewing and onboarding processes to attract, select and set up top talent for success
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading backend-heavy initiatives, including designing scalable architectures and integrating complex systems
- Familiarity with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, SQS ) and event-driven or distributed architectures
- Exposure to GraphQL, microservices, or domain-driven design (DDD) in production environments
- Contributions to open source projects or active involvement in the engineering community
