Functional Expert Consultant

Summary

Join our team as a Functional Expert Consultant and provide specialized support in capability sustainment, operational analysis, and Marine Corps force development. This remote position requires expertise in operational sustainment, policy interpretation, and capability integration to enhance Marine Corps sustainment efforts. You will apply advanced data analysis, stakeholder coordination, and policy interpretation skills to support CD&I initiatives. The role involves analyzing operational data, developing insights, and communicating findings to stakeholders. Travel is required. A Secret clearance is needed.

Requirements

• 8-10 Years Experience
• Extensive knowledge of Marine Corps operations, missions, and organizational structure
• Experience with DoD and Marine Corps sustainment doctrine, policies, and capability development frameworks
• Proficiency in analyzing operational data, developing insights, and visualizing findings for decision-makers
• Experience supporting Capabilities Development & Integration (CD&I) efforts, including PPBE, JCIDS, and force development processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in stakeholder engagement and sustainment-focused collaboration
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and adaptability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data visualization tools, and information management systems

Responsibilities

• Apply foundational knowledge of military warfighting and business functions, with emphasis on sustainment and operational support
• Interpret and apply DoD, Joint, Department of the Navy (DON), and Marine Corps doctrine and policies related to capability sustainment
• Analyze and assess Marine Corps missions, functions, and organizational structure to ensure sustainment strategies align with operational requirements
• Support Marine Corps Capabilities Development and Integration (CD&I) initiatives, ensuring alignment with PPBE, JCIDS, and DoD acquisition processes
• Assist in developing and refining the Force Integration Plan (FIP) and sustainment requirements for Marine Corps programs of record
• Apply expertise in Marine Corps Programming, Requirements Transition, Lessons Learned, Total Force Structure, and Universal Needs processes to enhance capability sustainment and lifecycle management
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of operational data from sources such as wargames, studies, and experiments to inform sustainment planning
• Utilize structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights that enhance Marine Corps CBRN sustainment and operational effectiveness
• Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate analytical findings in support of capability development and sustainment objectives
• Engage with Marine Corps and Joint stakeholders to ensure sustainment efforts remain aligned with operational priorities
• Schedule and manage sustainment-related meetings and events, capturing key decisions, action items, and sustainment requirements
• Maintain sustainment-focused information management systems, ensuring accurate documentation and accessibility of key sustainment resources
• Obtain and maintain access to the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) for task tracking
• Secure and manage a Total Force Structure Management System (TFSMS) account to support Marine Corps sustainment planning efforts

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree
• Prior experience working within the Marine Corps Capabilities Development Directorate (CDD)
• Experience with TFSMS, ETMS2, or other sustainment-related information management systems
• Background in logistics, sustainment planning, or force structure management
• Advanced analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making
