Summary

Join Carry1st, Africa’s leading games publisher, as a Game Economy Manager. You will design, model, and optimize in-game economies to enhance player engagement, retention, and monetization. Responsibilities include translating design goals into scalable economic structures, building simulations, analyzing in-game data, maintaining economic health, identifying and addressing imbalances, developing performance monitoring frameworks, and contributing to feature planning. This role requires 3+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, or technology, strong analytical and communication skills, and demonstrated excellence in education. Preference is given to candidates with experience in frontier markets, particularly Africa, and a passion for games or consumer fintech. Requirements

  • 3+ years working experience in consulting, investment banking, or technology
  • Strong combination of analytical / problem-solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellence at a top-tier educational institution or alternative pursuit

Responsibilities

  • Translate design goals into scalable, data-informed economic structures
  • Build and refine simulations to anticipate the impact of features and content on the broader economy
  • Analyse in-game data and player behaviour to inform tuning, pacing, and balancing decisions
  • Maintain economic health by designing and monitoring resource flows, progression pacing, and reward systems
  • Identify and address imbalances, exploitation risks, or inflationary trends in live environments
  • Develop frameworks & KPIs to monitor economy performance and support live tuning
  • Contribute to feature and content planning by delivering clear economic models and projections

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience living or working in a frontier market with a strong preference for Africa
  • Passion for games or consumer fintech
