Remote Game Engine Programmer

Summary

Wizcorp is seeking a Game Engine Programmer with 3+ years of professional software engineering experience and 2+ years of professional experience developing custom engine. The role involves working on exciting projects for next-generation consoles, reviewing code from other engineers, developing systems and related utilities, and taking ownership of large areas of the codebase.

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline; or relevant professional experience
• 3+ years professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years professional experience developing custom engine
• Solid software engineering abilities (good code hygiene, familiarity with various coding patterns, etc.)
• Strong software development skills, design theory, and development processes
• Strong personal time management
• Experience in one or multiple of the following: Creation of Rendering engines, Implementation of Animation specific tools, Development targeting PlayStation platforms, Development targeting Microsoft platforms, Familiarity with other target platforms (Nintendo, PC, mobile)
• English proficiency (ability to read, write, and discuss technical matters)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with some of the following languages: Ruby, Python, shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
• Experience with other game engines such as Unity, proprietary engines, or others
• At least 3 years of experience in the video game industry
• Worked on at least 1 released game
