Game Server Programmer

Summary

Wizcorp is seeking a Game Server Programmer with 3+ years of professional software engineering experience and at least 2 years of professional experience developing game servers. The role involves implementing multiplayer and networked features, creating peripheral systems, debugging, optimizing, and mentoring other engineers. Requirements

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline; or relevant professional experience
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years of professional experience developing game servers
• Solid software engineering abilities (good code hygiene, familiarity with various coding patterns, etc.)
• Strong experience with C++
• Good experience in a variety of programming languages used to create peripheral server-side systems
• Comfortable with source code management systems (Git, SVN, Perforce, etc.)
• English proficiency (ability to read, write, and discuss technical matters)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with some of the following languages: Go, Java, shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
• Experience with other game engines such (Unity, open source engines, or others)
• At least 3 years of experience in the video game industry
• Worked on at least 1 released game
• Conversational Japanese proficiency or above
