General Counsel

Join our international venture-building group as our General Counsel! You will oversee legal affairs worldwide, providing strategic guidance and ensuring global regulatory compliance. This role demands managing legal matters across subsidiaries, drafting contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulations like HIPAA, GDPR, OIG, and AKS. You will also oversee corporate governance and provide legal risk assessments. The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with extensive experience in a top-tier law firm or large international corporation, possessing strong legal drafting and negotiation skills. Experience with startups and regulatory frameworks is highly valued.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of experience in a top-tier law firm or a large international corporation
• Fluent in English with excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and regulatory frameworks
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment
• Comfortable working remotely with international teams

Responsibilities

• Manage all legal matters across the group and its subsidiaries worldwide
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements for day-to-day business operations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including with a strong focus on HIPAA, GDPR, OIG, and AKS regulations
• Oversee corporate governance matters and maintain best practices across the organization
• Provide legal risk assessments and strategic advice to executive leadership
• Collaborate with external counsel as needed for specialized legal matters

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in HIPAA, GDPR, OIG (Office of Inspector General), and AKS (Anti-Kickback Statute) compliance
• Previous experience with FDA regulations
• Experience working with startups, venture capital firms, or similar fast-paced environments
