Summary

The job is a dual role in Flex's legal and compliance departments. The employee will provide top-tier counsel to ensure adherence to all regulatory and legal requirements within the fintech industry. They will have 8+ years of experience in a legal and compliance role within the B2B fintech or B2B banking/credit-card services sector in the United States, with at least 3 years in a Fintech startup.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school with current bar admission
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in a legal and compliance role within the B2B fintech or B2B banking/credit-card services sector in the United States. At least 3 years in a Fintech startup
• Demonstrated expertise in the legal and regulatory environment of financial services, including knowledge of consumer lending laws, payments, and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the legal and regulatory framework for the company's operations, ensuring compliance across all functions
• Act as the primary legal advisor on all major business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships
• Design and implement an effective compliance program that identifies and mitigates risk, ensuring alignment with financial regulations
• Lead internal audits and investigations, report findings, and recommend remedial actions
• Manage the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts, ensuring they meet legal, regulatory, and company standards
• Serve as the point of contact for all regulatory bodies and external legal counsel
• Facilitate a company-wide understanding of legal and compliance issues through training and communication
