Join Intersect Power, a leading clean energy company, as an Accountant supporting the monthly end-to-end close process, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad-hoc projects. This role involves collaborating with various departments, ensuring accurate financial records, and maintaining strong internal controls. The position offers a flexible remote work environment with team gatherings four times a year at established hubs. Candidates should have 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, strong communication and analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software. A CPA or pursuit of a CPA is a plus. Requirements
- 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience including with operational assets, and a grasp of accounting principles and internal control environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to proactively connect with the company as a remote employee
- Comfortable working with and summarizing large data sets using Excel functionality
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in accounting software and Google applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing support for the journal entries
- Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a timely basis and ensure their accuracy by preparing all necessary documentation for reconciling journal entries
- Perform account analyses to ensure balances and entries are correct
- Prepare financial reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist in maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Support the accounts payable function on invoice coding and other queries
- Support the settlements team on a recurring basis
- Work closely with other departments, including development, construction, asset management, and treasury, to maintain accurate records and provide accounting support
- Participate in ad-hoc projects within the accounting department
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with or knowledge of Sage Intacct is a plus
- CPA or Pursuing CPA near completion or Masters Degree in Accounting is a bonus
