Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant
- Someone who is experienced and knowledgeable in doing payroll entries
- Engaged with end-to-end accounting cycle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing financial documents and transactions
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify issues that may not be immediately apparent
Responsibilities
- Prepare internal financial statements and reports, along with schedules, within 30 days after month close
- Prepare the cash report for review by the controller
- Perform account analysis, intercompany reconciliations, cost accruals, research and recommend transaction corrections
- Input entries in SAGE cash, general ledger sub module
- Prepare monthly, reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers to general ledger control accounts
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries and accruals
- Prepare various monthly journal entries to record home closings, payroll deduction liabilities and other liability accruals
- Work closely with CPA firm on year end audits, also do reports required by multiple government agencies
- Assist with implementation of a new (ERP) system, if need be, deploy transaction process improvements
- Prepare fiscal year end audit packages and tax packages for all properties for submission to CPA firm
- Review coding of all construction in progress (CIP) invoices coded by AP and correct them if need be for appropriate recording base on the company's recording policies
- Do special projects and/or prepare special reports required by other Departments, as requested
Preferred Qualifications
A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is often preferred
