German Linguist

Summary

Join DataForce by TransPerfect as a Linguist with idiomatic fluency in German for a 9-month, full-time, remote position in Spain starting in June 2025. You will curate and evaluate linguistic data, review speech model outputs, and automate tasks using scripts. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, strong linguistic knowledge, and experience in data curation or evaluation. Advanced English is needed, and French or Italian proficiency is a plus. You will collaborate with the team to improve data quality and processes. This is a permanent discontinuous employment contract.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics
• Strong understanding of linguistic concepts such as phonetics, syntax, semantics, and morphology
• Idiomatic fluency in German
• Advanced level of English
• Detail-oriented with good analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Curate and evaluate linguistic data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Review and assess outputs generated by speech models
• Execute scripts via command line for task automation or data handling (running, not developing)
• Provide feedback and draw conclusions based on the analyzed data
• Collaborate with the team to continuously improve data quality and task processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in similar tasks (data curation, evaluation, or linguistic analysis) is a plus
• Proficiency in French or Italian is a plus
